Vitalrest, a contract catering and hospitality services provider for the healthcare and social care sector, published more than 20 articles and recorded more than 11,000 impressions in Google's AI Overviews over the last three months. These results come from an SEO engagement run by Growth Room since January 2026, during the rebuild of the website: editorial strategy, semantic analysis, content briefs, editorial calendar, site architecture work and an SEO roadmap.

About Vitalrest

Vitalrest provides contract catering and hospitality services to healthcare and social care organisations: care homes, senior residences, facilities for people with disabilities, hospitals and clinics. Its business is B2B, and its counterparts are facility and group management.

These decisions commit a facility or a group, with several decision makers per deal and constraints specific to care settings. Before contacting providers, those decision makers read up: on operating models, on sector practice, on what an outsourced service actually covers.

The starting point

Vitalrest was preparing a full website rebuild. That moment creates a familiar problem: waiting for the new site before working on SEO costs several months, while investing in pages that are about to disappear wastes the work done.

The need therefore had two parts. Optimise the existing site through the transition, and in parallel build the editorial strategy and the architecture that will carry the visibility of the future site, so that it goes live with SEO foundations already in place.

SEO: preparing the visibility of the future site

Optimising the existing site through the transition

We started by optimising the site already in place. The aim was not to rebuild it, but to hold visibility during the transition and to avoid the countdown to the rebuild turning into several months without SEO activity.

Semantic analysis and editorial strategy

Semantic analysis provided the basis for the editorial strategy. It covers two families of queries: generic sector terms, and long-tail queries, more precise and less contested. Those detailed searches are the ones decision makers type while gathering information, well before they contact a provider.

Content briefs and editorial calendar

Every piece of content is framed by a brief: the search intent targeted, the outline, the angles to cover. Production is spread across an editorial calendar, which sustains a steady publishing rhythm instead of output in bursts. More than 20 articles have been published on this basis.

That body of content also feeds the answers search engines generate. Over the last three months, the site's content recorded more than 11,000 impressions in Google's AI Overviews, the answer blocks displayed above the classic results.

Site architecture and design review

We supported the rebuild on architecture: how sections are organised, how pages are ranked, where editorial content sits relative to service pages. Design mockups were reviewed from an SEO standpoint as they were produced.

This point conditions the rest. An architecture decided without SEO gets corrected afterwards, at the cost of redirects and pages to rebuild. Handled during design, it only costs a few rounds of feedback.

SEO roadmap

The whole engagement is steered by an SEO roadmap that sequences the work: what is handled before go-live, what waits for the new site, and in which order. It serves as a shared reference between content production and the progress of the rebuild.

Results

  • More than 20 articles published since the engagement started in January 2026.
  • More than 11,000 impressions in Google's AI Overviews over the last three months.

The engagement has been running since January 2026. The approach has not changed: publishing during the rebuild rather than after it, on queries sector decision makers actually type, and handling architecture at the moment it is being decided.
